So….dude getting eye eaten by girl is Jake Price. That’s his girlfriend getting savage on his face in Vegas. Jake’s okay though, don’t worry, it’s just a playful photo. She’s really just a harmless swimsuit model. Yep. You’d probably let her do this too.
Anyway…Jake Price films, edit, etc…And he’s really good at what he does…I’ve hyped him up on here before…CLICK IT….but today’s order of bizniz has to do with Volcom’s Wandering Winterland. Jake made it and it’s on ITunes. You can buy the 22-minute shred movie for just $1.99.
I did, and so should you. Some serious shredding from the likes of…Zac Marben, Curtis Ciszek, Kevin Pearce, Blair Habenicht, Pat Moore, Dan Brisse, Scott Stevens, Cheryl Maas, Bjorn, The Guch…the list goes on.

Shred Saudi Arabia

Found this while looking for who-know what on the Web…Next new spot?
“According to a story in the Saudi Gazette and sourced to the American News Agency, the Associated Press, snow fell in Al-Baha city, to the south-west of Riyadh, on Tuesday.
Torrential rain poured down on Al-Baha accompanied by gusty winds.
The nearby mountains received some snow too.
It covered the valley areas and the forests of Al-Zaraeb and Khayrah, according to the report.
It doesn’t look like they were prepared for the white stuff and on closer examination it could even be hailstones, but it’s certainly an interesting picture and they look like they are enjoying themselves anyway.
It does though snow in Saudi Arabia - just not always at this time of year.”

And YouTube proof that there’s shreddable snowfall in Saudi Arabia.
Down the Rabbit Hole…

You’re probably doing what I’m doing. Trying to work off that after-lunch lull, find inspiration, ideas, entertainment anything, right…here’s what I found today…
It started at Boardistan.com, a ‘boarder news site run by a former TransWorlder. Good, quick, news nuggets. Check it..
From there I found We Love You So, a blog that was started by the people behind the new movie Where The Wild Things Are, looks like it’ll be a new-found favorite.
Once there I found this MP3-and-image-a-day site, called Nevver, so then I had something to listen to. Always nice. So is this photo, huh?
That’s it. Found what I was looking for, off to write about my trip to Lebanon last winter…yep, that’s the Middle East, and yep, we went snowboarding there…it was something else, you’ll never believe what happend!

One rad thing about the real estate market crash down here in Cali: Foreclosed homes have to drain their pools. Already found one. On the look out all summer. Holler if you hear of any.

It’s Snowing In Oz

Check it…Mt. Buller in Australia is opening. Earliest opening on record. What are you doing this summer?
Click the pic to warp to the web site.
Mt. Buller (VIC), Australia - Australia’s Mt. Buller is opening its ski resort to the public five weeks ahead of schedule this Saturday and Sunday, for skiing and snowboarding on the 35 cm (14 inches) of early snowfall blanketing the ski area.
?This is the earliest we?ve opened a lift and ski run in the history of Mt. Buller resort. The closest was 45 years ago when we opened on the 16th of May in 1964,” said Laurie Blampied, General Manager of Buller Ski Lifts. ?It?s so exciting to have such early and extensive falls so we decided to seize the opportunity, open up early for a special weekend and share it with everyone.?
As of press time, Mt. Buller will be the only ski resort open in Australia this weekend. None of the country’s other ski areas in Victoria or New South Wales have announced plans to open. After receiving up to 40 cm of new snow, Mt. Hotham recorded Victoria’s coldest April temperature ever at -8ºC.
A three-hour drive from Melbourne, roads are clear and open to Mt. Buller and there is currently no resort entry fee.
Buller Ski Lifts will have its new six-seat Holden Express chairlift in operation for skiers, boarders and also sightseeing on Saturday and Sunday with equipment and clothing rental available in the Ski School building and the Arlberg Hotel.
A special lift ticket price of AUS$20 will be offered, and the ski area will be open this Saturday and Sunday, May 2 and 3 only. Season passes will be valid

Stumbled across this web site while cruising Kevin Zacher’s blog (here).
Remember Blotto (here) saying something about this a couple weeks back, mentioned that one of his homies was starting this poster biz and that “the print quality was really nice.”
So yeah, this site www.id-prints.com, is selling surf, skate and snow posters. Right now they’ve got images by Blotto, Cole Barash and Kevin Zacher for sale. Some sick photos and they’re reasonably priced.
Think I’ll drop in on a couple come pay day. The ripped-out mag pages on my bedroom wall are starting to yellow.
Big Ups for Barash
by lgallagher on Apr.27, 2009, under Uncategorized
Cole Barash was recently listed as one of PDN’s Top 30 emerging photogs (here).
That’s a big deal. Probably not too many other 21 year olds on that list.
Or “action-sports” photographers, for that matter. But of course Cole would end up on the list, dude deserves it. Been slaying that shutter for some time now. Sure this season was no different. Can’t wait to see.
Here’s some links to Mr. Barash’s work, so you can get that Cole fix before next years mags start rolling out.
